Good day today

lab talk was well received.

Turns out I only need 5 micrograms of RNA for each condition on the new Agilent arrays, so that cuts down the number of larvae I have to treat significantly.

also Rob and Charlie had the idea of splitting the biological replicates and using half the material of each for the control pool.

this is probably making no sense to anyone the people who already saw the talk.

I've finally found the tiny bottle of phenol:chloroform for the gDNA extractions. will have to do at least one of them tomorrow and organise a schedule to finish the extractions and lightcycler runs by the 8th.

buildup of flies for the microarray is still progressing smoothly.

I think this is the first blog post where I've actually rambled about my PhD project. bizarre.
