I have an account, but nobody seems to want what I'm selling. (But I never expected it to make me money.)

The etsy forums actually seem to have people with decent advice. (Although I suspect a lot of it is from people who use etsy as a serious income stream, as their suggestions often do include a lot of work.)

I think better advice might be to spend some time on Regretsy, to see the things the posts and comments pick on -- incoherent descriptions, bad spelling on items, poorly made items with big price tags, too many vaginas...

For some reason, regretsy seems to have been around for the shortest time, but is also the best-publicised in the mainstream media (or so it seems, that's how I found out about it.) The author must be happy though- she's got a book deal out of it.

The next best site is Etsy WTF?, but that's more of a 'ha! it's stupid/weird/is a reseller not a handcrafter!' than any decent commentary and reminder to spell-check.

mawaridi could also be a good source. She has posted and sold things over Etsy.
